"a place for your creativity, thoughts, and plans."
After several months of work Simon and I are so happy to present to you our very first notebook! Which we have named “Rêverie”.
It required much time and thinking to figure out what we wanted to bring and have in our notebook. From choosing the right cover material, the type of paper, it all has its importance and we wanted to be sure we made the right choice. Our goal was to propose a beautiful, quality notebook and at a decent price.
After all this brainstorming we finally came to our first notebook design : a pure and elegant cover, with the word "RÊVERIE" in gold lettering, on a coral pink, or black cover, which is so smooth (and soft to the touch) and vegan.
Why the name RÊVERIE?
I love how this word sounds. It sounds so poetic and artistique, and it really corresponds to the atmosphere we want to bring and have with MELLOW DAYS.
A passive and generally pleasant state of consciousness in which the mind lets itself be captivated by an impression, a memory, a feeling, a thought and lets its imagination run free from associations of ideas.
What about the paper?
We have chosen a really thick paper of 180gsm which also has a (coating) that has been applied to avoid the quick absorption of water or ink. In other words, this keeps your paper from being a sponge when using watercolors or fountain pens. The coating also makes the pages so smooth, making it really comfortable to write on, giving the impression that your pen glides across the page.
We wanted dotted paper with light grey dots for two reasons. The first, is that the dotted pages help, and serve as a guide when setting up your page and in writing straight lines (nobody wants crooked lines). The second reason is that light grey lines are much less visible than black dots, so they don’t interfere with your illustrations or drawings.
What else is included in this notebook?
The classics : two ribbon bookmarks, an elastic to keep your notebook well closed, (this is very helpful when carrying your notebook around from school, work, etc.), and a pocket envelope for all of your stickers, notes, or scraps of pretty paper.
Also, to avoid unnecessary plastic we've made the decision to package them in a cardboard box, that was also carefully designed.
